A house divided

It is generally acknowledged that our country is more divided today than at any time in our history. Unfortunately, this division is reflected in the Body of Christ, the Church, as well. This is not surprising, considering the Church is composed of fallen people who are greatly influenced by the world around them.

However, while understandable, this schism in the body is not in any way excusable.

house dividedChrist warned in Luke 11:17-18:

Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall.

This applies to the house of God, as well as to our nation. It is up to Christians to step outside the sanctuary and become the healing influence our country and our Church so desperately needs.

We would be wise to heed Christ’s words, both those above and these which follow in Luke 11: 23:

He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters.

There is no ambiguity in Jesus’ words. Every believer must stand up and let it be known to all exactly Who they are with. The time to gather, brothers and sisters, is now.
