This scary election

You may have heard or read comments this election year about how scary the prospect is for certain candidates to be elected. You may even share the feeling of unease about the future of our country.

Although it may be uncomfortable to consider all the possibilities, it is important for Christians to be involved and informed about politics, it is one of the ways we are salt and light in our world. We can’t do that by ignoring politics or ‘staying above the fray’ as so many would prefer to do.

However, the Bible has words of comfort for such a time as this:

“…the government shall be upon God’s shoulders.” Isaiah 9:6

We can be confident the eventual outcomes will be used by God to fulfill His plan, but this doesn’t mean we should not get involved by working and praying to elect godly leaders of integrity.

(When I was looking for this link, I entered “ivoter.com” without the “S” and was directed to a Bernie Sanders site. So, either click on the link above or enter the address very carefully.)

The body of Christ has a responsibility to become informed, to vote wisely and to pray daily for God’s will to be done.
