Are you a Call-waiting Christian?

Are you a Call-waiting Christian? Are you easily distracted by whatever catches your attention?

I confess to being cell-phone challenged. I use the basic applications on my smart phone and those only when absolutely necessary. That’s not too surprising, because I’ve never been one to spend much time chatting on any telephone.

My sister, on the other hand…well, her other hand usually has a phone in it.

cell phoneI enjoy our conversations and keeping up on all her latest news, but she has call-waiting on her phone and it is a rare exchange which isn’t interrupted with another call she has to take. While I understand others sometimes take precedence over a chat with me, I sometimes feel a bit hurt.

I wonder how God feels when we take our focus off Him to respond to our life’s distractions. If that call on our attention is important, shouldn’t we bring it into a conference call?

Looking at the title of this blog makes me think of another take on the same theme; are we waiting for God to call us, rather than hitting speed dial and taking everything to Him?

It’s something to think about the next time you’re on-hold.

Too true ! sometimes that call waiting is a real pain ! especially if they know you are the caller and choose to keep you waiting !
