Dear Diary

I decided to glean the best posts from the past six years of this blog and compile them into a couple of books, one of daily devotions for women and one of weekly readings for leaders of women’s ministries.  It’s been a daunting task, reviewing, sorting and editing the posts.

It is a worthwhile exercise, though, even if I don’t finish in the timeline I’ve set for myself, because re-reading these posts gives me a fresh look at my spiritual growth and the evolution of my ideas. It also brings into focus those areas of my life where I’ve failed to live up to my resolutions as fully as I’d hoped.

my diaryAnyone who has ever stumbled across an old diary or journal knows what I am talking about. Reading your thoughts and comments from an earlier time in your life is eye-opening and humbling, but it is also inspiring.

I want to live up to the dreams of that long-ago me and be able to look back on the next six years with a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment.

Wish me luck!
