The world is at war today.

While no one has added a numerical title to the history books, the struggle between freedom, morality and the Islamic State terrorists is world-wide and it is a battle to the death.

While it is up to governments to put boots on the ground and provide armaments to the troops in order to defeat these forces of evil, it is up to every individual to enter the spiritual battle.

As the old hymn says, “Rise up, oh men of God, and put your armor on…have done with lesser things. Give heart and mind and soul and strength” to this fight.

It is up to us to speak out to our leaders to let them know we have the will to win this war and insist they take it seriously.

Not only Christians and Jews, but all people of goodwill and who love freedom, must respond to the threat to us all, to our freedoms and way of life.

It is time for each of us to have done with lesser things. The battle is at hand.
