Glorious Fall

Today is one of our rare glorious fall days in Northern California with sunshine, powder blue skies and temperatures in the 60’s.

My youngest son and I spent several hours geocaching in the foothills north-east of town. We traipsed up lava-rock strewn hillsides and thorny gullies, finally arriving on top of the world with a view that went on forever.

We only found one of the caches we were after, but the day was a complete success, nonetheless.

After weeks of stressful, over-filled days having this time together in the open air just enjoying each other and God’s creation was a tonic.

I think sometimes I forget how important it is to just “be” in the moment with those I love.

Tomorrow I will return to the challenges and demands of my work and everyday life with a renewed spirit and a refreshed body.

I thank God for this blessed day and ask that he not let me forget the lessons learned.
